But during the 1980s, Setzer released a pair of underappreciated solo albums that were occasionally infused with as much English Invasion and Byrds guitar jangle as they were with Setzer's beloved roots-rock sensibilities. The results weren't so different from what Chris Isaak would achieve slightly thereafter (if a good deal less slavish to their various musical forebears).
