Since the Hospitals Amendment Act was passed late in 1975 abortion has been a notifiable procedure, and from then a central record has been maintained of all abortions carried out in licensed institutions in New Zealand. In 1977 the Contraception, Sterilisation and Abortion Act established an Abortion Supervisory Committee with responsibilities which included the collection of notification data relating to abortion. Such a centrally based reporting system has created the opportunity for research more comprehensive than is possible in most countries and enabled the committee to commission this two part national study. The first part of the report makes use of the notified data while the second part focuses on the results of a survey undertaken in 1983 which documents the experiences of women who used the system ... The report was commissioned by the Abortion Supervisory Committee which takes responsibility for its publication. -- Foreword.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Book Express","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":41835483758666,"sku":"2075i","price":12.0,"currency_code":"NZD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0618\/9101\/8826\/files\/2075i.jpg?v=1764475867","url":"https:\/\/www.bookexpress.nz\/products\/induced-abortion-in-new-zealand-1976-1983-by-janet-sceats-2075i","provider":"Book Express","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
