She cleans the house, turns on the utilities, confronts the bureaucracy, bluffs the police, and cadges or steals money from her middle-class parents. The group’s anti-capitalist posturing and amateur protests slowly morph into actual terrorism. Upstairs in the squat, a cold and secretive member named Jocelin studies handbooks on making explosives, aligning the group with the IRA (Irish Republican Army).

Despite flinching from the brutal reality of violence, Alice rationalizes and facilitates the group's descent into bomb-making. The narrative culminates in a real, disastrous explosion, leaving the characters to face an aftermath that is far less cinematic or heroic than their inflated revolutionary fantasies
